Bucket of Hope - Inspired to Make a Difference

Polokwane Chemical Suppliers aims to be a trusted industry leader for community development in our interactions with all of our stakeholders including, partners, employees, customers and the local communities in which we operate. Over the past years, PCS has been dedicating part of its time and financial resources to helping disadvantaged children, special needs schools and the community in general.

With a growing need and burning desire to continuously extend a helping hand to more people, PCS launched The Bucket of Hope in 2018, an initiative that’s inspired to make a difference by contributing to a brighter future in the communities we live and work in. Within the same year, the company adopted two drop-in-centres, Re a Kgona Drop in Centre in Mankweng and Mahlahlelane Drop in Centre in Bergnek. These centres provide food and social support to vulnerable children within their communities.

Our greatest achievement thus far has been donating a building for the Mahlahlelane Centre, which had been operating from a shack since inception.

In 2019, we launched the Bucket of Hope Enterprise Development initiative,  which is run as an annual competition during the youth month where young entrepreneurs are encouraged to pitch their businesses for an opportunity to win a prize for their business.  This is done to encourage continuous development and growth of enterprises which ultimately, could form part of the PCS supply chain.

To date, PCS has assisted the following businesses through the Bucket of Hope Enterprise Initiative:

  • Lehlogedi Clothing & Embroidery - Converted to Supplier
  • Galeadi Events
  • Senwabarwana Pavements - Converted to Supplier
  • ImpowerX Advisory Services
  • Mohlaka & Sons - 2022 Winner
  • Singularitytech - 2023 Winner
