Mahlahlalane Drop-in Centre in Bergnek received a donation of a new building from Polokwane Chemical Suppliers (PCS) on Friday, 14 May 2021.
The handover ceremony was attended by the local community and Mahlahlalane Drop-in Centre board members. According to PCS Chief Executive Officer, Melita Mampane, this is not the first time PCS donated to the Mahlahlalane Drop-in Centre. “The Women’s Auxiliary of the Methodist Church firstly donated a braai stand, and then we donated shelters so that they do not have to cook in the rain.
The shelter was overused because it served as an office, classroom and storeroom all in one. We added them to our CSI project through the Bucket of Hope initiative so that we could start building a proper structure for them. PCS is not just a manufacturer, we are also motivated and inspired to make a difference in the communities that we serve. We first visited Mahlahlalane Dropin Centre in 2018 through an outreach programme of the Methodist Church. I was touched by the work done by Mahlahlalane Drop-in Centre,” Mampane said.
Mahlahlalane Drop-in Centre Manager, Modipadi Rehab Dimo said she is so excited to receive this kind of donation. “We will take care to avoid damage. They started by donating shacks and braai stands for the centre and now they came back for a proper structure. We hope that we are still going to work hand-in-hand with PCS,” Dimo concluded.
